Won from the prestigious Vile Parle (Mumbai) seat defeating Mr. Vinayak Raut (Secretary of the Shiv Sena) and close aide of Mr. Uddhav Thackeray and Mr. Shirish Parkar (General Secretary and Spokesperson of MNS) and one of Mr. Raj Thackeray’s closest aides.

Work as MLA

• Completed over Rs. 2 Crores work in the constituency in the first 9 months.
• Work on the Milan subway flyover in progress due to Hon’ble MP Ms Priya Dutt and MLA Krishna Hegde’s efforts.
• Work on 3 Skywalks already completed in the Vile Parle constituency.
• Work on the underpass on W.E. Highway Completed in Vile Parle (E) due to MLA’s efforts.
• Plan to install CCTv in entire Vile Parle constituency linked to Police Stations at no cost to Government or Tax payer. This will be the first constituency in India to be covered by CCTv.
• Plan to beautify major gardens/parks in Vile Parle constituency.

Was part of the AICC Media team headed by Shri Veerappa Moily – Union Minister for Law and Justice (then Chairman  AICC– Media Cell) in the Karnataka Assembly elections (May, 2008)

Participated in the All India Spokespersons Training Camp In New Delhi conducted by the AICC – Media Department (Feb, 2008) , Nuclear Deal Orientation program for All India Spokespersons also in 2008 and Pre Lok-Sabha Election Workshop for All India Congress Spokespersons in March 2009.

Was Chief Coordinator of Smt. Priya Dutt’s Lok Sabha election of April 2009, also handled the Strategy and Media of Smt Priya Dutt’s 2005 election campaign and also the elections of former Union Minister Shri Sunil Dutt saab.

Was Spokesperson for former Union Minister Shri Sunil Dutt saab and worked closely with him.

Associated with the Congress Party since my school days. Was active Member of the NSUI and also worked as General Secretary of Mumbai Pradesh Youth Congress.

Other activities

Associated with Citizen, an NGO working actively in coordinating blood for children suffering from Thalasemmia.

Worked on several development projects in the Parliamentary constituencies of Shri Sunil Dutt saab and Smt Priya Dutt (MP) and co-ordinated development work for them.

Is working with several NGO's and Citizen groups towards a better Mumbai.

Assisted in several charitable causes - Collected 13 Lacs thru Mumbai Marathon for Prime Ministers Fund , coordinated for Shri Sunil Dutt saab, then Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Govt of India. Collected Funds for Kargil Jawan Martyrs families and also organized Kargil Photo Exhibition in Vile Parle E, courtesy Indian Express Group and also for the Gujarat Earthquake victims.

One of the main organizers of the Bournvita Inter-school Chess tournament , the biggest in the world, attracting over 2300 children being played at Prabodankar Thackeray Krida Sankul (PTKS), Vile Parle E.

Work as Board Member of MHADA (Mumbai)

Opposed new Ready Reckoner Rates along with other board members to ensure that Mhada houses are available to people at economical old rates.

Made proposals in Board meetings to increase FSI of all Mhada Colonies so people living in the can avail of bigger houses and better amenities during re-development.

Along with other Board members brought transparency in the working of MHADA.

Successfully organized public lottery draws for flats to be allotted by MHADA. These lottery draws were conducted before Public and on Live television. Approx 3400 more flats are due for the lottery process shortly.

Made Historic suggestions in MHADA board meeting like giving bank interest to lakhs of people who has given deposit money to MHADA along with their application forms for flats under MHADA scheme. This had not been done since inception of MHADA in 1972.

Made suggestions to improve designs of MHADA buildings and implemented several schemes to improve infrastructure of MHADA colonies , roads, water supply, up-gradation, complaint addressal system, rain water harvesting etc.

Taken up numerous issues concerning the ‘Common Man’ living in MHADA colonies.

Traveled extensively in Germany, England, Greece, Sweden, Switzerland , Dubai, Belgium, Luxembourg, Holland and Italy and has a world wide vision.
